After further investigating an incident where an 11-year-old girl alleged a man attempted to cut off her hijab on her way to school in Scarborough last Friday, Toronto police say it never happened.
The girl initially told police she was heading to Pauline Johnson Junior Public School when a man approached from behind.
She said he cut her hijab, fled, returned minutes later, resumed cutting it before finally running off for good.
After looking into the allegations, police said they considered the case closed.
”After a detailed investigation, police have determined that the events described … did not happen,” according to police statement.
