The Canadian whose story served as the basis for the 1996 Oscar nominated movie “Fly Away Home” has died at the age of 78.
Bill Lishman was an award winning artist, writer and filmmaker who grew up just east of Toronto and became known as “Father Goose” after leading a flight of geese with an aircraft.
Lishman died December 30th of leukemia. He is survived by his wife two sons and a daughter.
