It’s not what a group of injured Canadian veterans had hoped to hear in their hard fought legal battle.

The six vets had alleged they were unfairly treated because of an overhaul in 2006 to the way the federal government compensates those hurt in the line of service.
The group argues those changes, including replacing lifelong disability pensions with a lump-sum payout, actually adds up to less than the previous system.
Three years ago a B.C. Supreme Court justice ruled the case could go to trial.
But now that province’s court of appeal has struck it down after the federal government appealed.
The vets will now talk with their lawyer to see whether they’ll take this all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada.
