Believe it or not, it’s been 20 years since Canadian-born filmmaker James Cameron’s Oscar-winning blockbuster “Titanic” was released.
Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio starred as an aristocrat and a poor 17-year-old who fall in love aboard the ill-fated ocean liner.
The movie’s 20th anniversary is being celebrated with a one week theatrical run.
The movie made almost $2.2 billion world wide and is considered the second highest grossing film of all time.
Canadian chanteuse Celine Dion sang the movie’s title song. Cameron was born in Kapuskasing, Ontario, 63 years ago.
