Small businesses in Ontario are anticipating tax cuts when Finance Minister Charles Sousa delivers his fall economic statement this afternoon.
The tax cuts have been demanded in order to off set the cost of the scheduled increase in the province’s minimum wage. It moves to $14 dollars an hour on January 1, 2018 and $15 an hour January 1st 2019.
Cuts are expected to employer health tax, the corporate income tax rate and the business education tax on commercial property.
Sousa’s economic statement is also likely to contain ideas about the Wynne Government’s election messaging with the next general election in Ontario less than seven months away.
