It’s a chilling warning to humanity – signed by 15,000 scientists from around the world – who say we are “jeopardizing our future.”
The message has been issued as an update on the first warning from 25 years ago – backed at the time by 1,700 experts –
but with very little action being taken the stark prediction has escalated.
Major concerns on the list are: the world’s rapidly growing population..catastrophic climate change..mass species extinction…ocean “dead zones”..and lack of access to fresh water.
In a statement, one of the scientists said: “Those who signed this second warning aren’t raising a false alarm. They are acknowledging the obvious signs that we are heading down an unsustainable path – and we are hoping that our paper will ignite a widespread public debate – about the global environment and climate.”
