No comment yet from investigators if former Blue Jays pitcher Roy Halladay may have been showboating just before his small plane crashed into the Gulf of Mexico off the Florida coast.
Several witnesses say Halladay appeared to be making extreme, unusual changes in altitude moments before the plane went down in 4-feet of water.
The National Transportation Safety Board’s Noreen Price says it’s still in the process of interviewing eyewitnesses.
”We really don’t like to talk about what previous witnesses have said before we interview all the witnesses, because sometimes people will hear what other witnesses say and change what they may have to say, so, I can’t make any statements, but generally a lot of witnesses have said that the plane was maneuvering at low altitude.”
Price adds Halladay got his pilot’s license four years ago and according to his log book had approximately 700 flight hours.
She says the preliminary NTSB report on the crash will be out in a week to 10 days and that the full investigation will take one to two years.
