ONTARIO NAMES FIRST MUNICIPALITIES THAT'LL GET LEGAL POT SHOPS

The GTA will get some of the first group of standalone marijuana stores once pot’s legalized in 2018.
The LCBO, which will run them, and the province have identified the first 14 municipalities that’ll receive them.

                           –Brampton
                           –Mississauga
                           –Vaughan
                           –Barrie
                           –Hamilton
                           –London
                           –Kitchener
                           –Windsor
                           –Kingston
                           –Ottawa
                           –Sault Ste. Marie
                           –Sudbury
                           –Thunder Bay
The Ministry of Finance and LCBO will meet with the municipalities in the coming weeks to discuss options for locations.
Once that’s done, the public will be notified and have the chance to ask questions before the sites are officially confirmed.
Additional municipalities will be identified as the plan’s rolled out.
The government has said it intends to have 40 stores open next year, up to 80 by July 2019 and about 150 shops up and running the following year.
