The wife or the late former Beatle John Lennon is getting a writing credit for helping write John Lennon’s classic “Imagine” …
Shortly before his death in 1980, Lennon said his wife deserved a writing credit and now, more than 40-years after its release, Ono will get one.
The New York-based National Music Publishers Association explained the move saying a lot of the song – the lyric and the concept – came from Yoko.

Under U.S. law, a song enters the public domain 70 years after the death of its last creator. Adding Ono’s name to the song will significantly extend that period of time.
