In a letter to Meredith, which also went to every member of the upper chamber, Senator Andre Pratte writes Canadians will forgive him if he admits to his mistakes, but that he is still not fit to serve in the Senate.

He says Meredith’s conduct as a senator and a man was ”unconscionable.”
Pratte also urges Meredith to think of his family and make a decision quickly.
”For you, and for the Senate, an institution which I am sure you love deeply and whose reputation has suffered enough already.”
The standing committee on ethics and conflict for senators will now assess the damning report on Meredith’s behaviour which was released last week by the Senate Ethics Officer released.
