Marijuana activists Marc and Jodie Emery are expected make a court appearance in Toronto this morning, charged with a number of drug-related offenses.

They appeared briefly in a courtroom yesterday afternoon before police revealed the full list of charges they face.

The self-styled “Prince and Princess of Pot” were arrested at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport on Wednesday evening, not long after Jodie Emery had taken part in a recording of TheZoomer on our Sister Station Vision TV for an upcoming episode on the legalization of pot.

“I have dedicated my life to this, I was the editor of a magazine, I live breathe eat, everything I do is about pot. I’ve got no hobbies, I’ve got no friends. I’ve got no life because I’ve dedicated to this civil liberties issue and if everyone here has been ideacity, they’ve seen me talk about it. I will give up my marijuana business in a blink if they stop arresting people,” Jodie Emery explained.

The Emery’s own the Cannabis Culture chain of marijuana dispensaries in Ontario, B.C. and Quebec.

Seven outlets, including five in Toronto and one in Hamilton, were raided and five people were arrested, including the Emery’s.

The Trudeau Liberals are planning to introduce legislation around marijuana legalization this summer.
