U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has chosen David Friedman – as his American ambassador to Israel.
Friedman advised Trump on U.S.-Israel affairs during the presidential campaign and says in a statement that he looks forward to working “from the U.S. Embassy in Israel’s eternal capital, Jerusalem.”
Trump has promised to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from its current location in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
The United States does not currently recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
