Canada’s Man in Motion is pushing “accessibility ” as a human right for people with disabilities and Rick Hansen says Canadians are generally supportive.
Hansen points to a new Angus Reid survey which shows 86% of Canadians support some kind of program to rate building accessibility and he says as Zoomers continue to age, “barrier free” buildings will become more and more in demand.
Hansen also says along with strong laws to protect Canadians with disabilities, there should be awards that recognize good accessible design.
