Expect traffic headaches this weekend if you’re trying to get into and out of downtown Toronto.

The entire Gardiner Expressway from Highway 427 to Carlaw Avenue is being shut down at 11 o’clock tonight for it’s annual fall maintenance.
Plans are to resurface the expressway along with bridge repair, catch basin cleaning and median installation.
Mayor John Tory says with the Blue Jays no long in competition and the Leafs playing in Chicago, this is the prefect weekend to get the Gardiner back up to snuff.
The Gardiner reopens Monday morning at 5.
