CITY ZEROS IN ON TORONTO'S MOST CONGESTED INTERSECTIONS

You may not think so sitting at one of them, but the city of Toronto is making changes to the top 10 busiest intersections in an effort to keep vehicles moving safely.
As part of the second phase of its congestion management plan, the city’s making changes to 10 ”hotspots”.
City staff used third-party traffic data to identify them.
Mayor John Tory says ”the number one priority for Toronto residents is their ability to move around this city quickly and safely. Targeting these intersections will common sense solutions is a low-cost, high-impact initiative to get people moving while ensuring public safety.”
The measures include re-timing traffic signals during peak periods, turn restrictions, left-turn advance green, increasing the length of green lights, and including a closed circuit TV camera.
