Winnipeg’s Miriam Toews has been named winner of the $10,000 Harbourfront Festival Prize.
The 52 year old author is a two-time winner of the Rogers Writers’ Trust Prize…
Toews was cited for her advocacy for the mentally ill and her support for young writers. The Jury called her “an ambassador for Canadian writing and culture” for her appearances at events around the world.
The Harbourfront Prize will be presented October 24th during the International Festival of Authors at the Harbourfront Centre.
