A 27-year-old Toronto man’s facing charges after fake tickets to one of the Tragically Hip’s final concerts were sold a couple days ago.
Durham Police say a woman told them she bought a pair from someone off Kijiji to the August 12th show at the A-C-C.
After buying them from a man in Scarborough she noticed the ad was still online.
So she called the guy, using a different name, and he allegedly showed her a picture of two tickets … identical to the ones she’d just bought.
A meeting was arranged, only police went along and a suspect was arrested trying to flee.
Gord Downie
After revealing frontman Gord Downie’s suffering from terminal brain cancer, the Hip will kick off their final tour July 22 in Victoria, wrapping up in the band’s hometown of Kingston August 20.
