MEDICAL SCHOOLS WAIT AND SEE ON DOCTOR ASSISTED DEATH

With the pending legalization of doctor assisted death, Canada’s medical schools are deciding when they should begin introducing the development into their curriculum and what exactly that teaching needs to entail.
The CEO of the Association of Faculties of Medicine Canada says a lot of the universities that train doctors are waiting to see how the law is written and how it will be interpreted province to province.
The University of Toronto has put together a team of experts to integrate provisions of the new law into its second year ethics seminar on end of life care.
The Supreme Court has give the federal government until June 6th to have legislation on doctor assisted death in place.
