Montreal-based, Toronto-born author and translator Jessica Moore has made the long list for the 2016 Man Booker International Prize, one of the most prestigious book prizes in the world.
Moore’s translation of a novel by French author Maylis de Kerangal, titled “Mend the Living”, is one of 13 books in contention for the 2016 Prize. It celebrates the finest in global fiction in translation with a cash prize of more than $90.000, to be divided equally between the author of the winning book and its translator
The Man Booker International short list will be announced on Thursday of this week. The winner will be announced on May 16.
