22 years after being fired for what New York’s Metropolitan Opera called unprofessional actions, Soprano Kathleen Battle is returning to the Metropolitan Opera.
The 68 year old is scheduled to sing a recital November 13th.
Battle made her Met debut in 1977 and was a favourite of music director James Levine. She was fired after walking off the stage during rehearsals in 1993 citing creative differences with the conductor.
