It’s the Family Day holiday today when most Ontario employees have the day off to enjoy activities with their children.

Here in Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario is offering a special Family Day by transforming the gallery from the AGO to the KGO, as in the Kids Gallery of Ontario.

From 10:30am until 4pm, there are special children’s exhibits, along with cookie creating, colossol colouring, superhero self portraits and family yoga.

Other tourist attractions are open, including Ripley’s Aquarium, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Ontario Science Centre.

Several GTA malls are open today, including the Eaton Centre, Vaughan Mills and Square One. But Yorkdale, Fairview, Scarborough Town Centre and Sherway Gardens are closed. Movie theatres are open.

As for what’s closed, banks, municipal offices, banks, LCBO stores, Beer Stores, most Wine Rack locations and grocery stores are not open today. Toronto Library branches are closed.

The TTC is running on a holiday schedule today. GO Transit is running a Saturday schedule.
