The Crown will begin its closing arguments at the James Forcillo trial Thursday.
Forcillo is the Toronto Police Constable who fired 8 bullets into 18 year old Sammy Yatim on an emptied TTC Streetcar in the summer of 2013.
Yatim was carrying a pocket knife, swinging it around near the front door of the streetcar when shots were fired.
Forcillo is being tried on 2nd degree murder charges in the case.
Throughout the trial, Forcillo’s Defense team contends the officer was acting in self defense, and asked the jury to put themselves in Forcillo’s shoes.
During closing arguments, the Defense called the Crown’s case ‘weak.’
