The Art Gallery of Alberta – is hoping to stop charging admission – for most of its exhibits.
The AGA went before Edmonton city council yesterday – trying to find an additional $250,000 – to help progress to a new business plan.
Although most of the exhibits would be free – the gallery would still charge for some high-demand attractions.
AGA chair Darcy Trufyn says the gallery can’t sustain what they’ve been doing – with the number of alternatives out there for the public.
And Trufyn says this is the third year in a row where they’ve finished with a surplus budget – proof they’re being fiscally prudent.
