Tentative deals have been reached with public elementary teachers, ending a work-to-rule campaign that began back in the spring.
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation is advising its 78,000 members to suspend their job action.
Earlier Monday, a deal was reached with support staff represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
Meanwhile, there’s still no agreement with education support workers that belong to the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation.
Education Minister Liz Sandals says they’re unwilling to stop their job action. As a result, the government is giving school boards permission to give them 5-days notice that their pay could be docked up to 10%.
