Residents and tourists along Mexico’s southwest coast are bracing for the arrival of the strongest hurricane the Western Hemisphere has ever seen.
Hurricane Patricia Approaches
‘Patricia’ continues to have maximum sustained winds near 325-kilometres-an-hour.
After it makes landfall later today, the storm’s expected to rapidly weaken over the mountains of Mexico.
David Lloyd of Edmonton has just moved to Puerto Vallarta with his wife.
”I think we have to be prepared that, after the storm, if it is as severe as they say it is, that we may be without power for two, three, four days.”
Forecasters say the Category Five hurricane could be ”potentially catastrophic”.
