ELEMENTARY TEACHERS, SUPPORT STAFF GIVEN DEADLINE TO END WORK-TO-RULE

The day after elementary teachers threatened to withdraw from extra-curricular activities, the premier announced the teachers and some support staff must stop their work-to-rule campaigns by November 1st or face sanctions.

Ontario school boards have requested permission from the government to dock the pay of those who are withdrawing services.
That won’t happen just yet, if at all.
After meeting with their unions, Premier Kathleen Wynne hopes deals can be reached by then because ”eight days is a long time in the world of bargaining.”
The province is not considering imposing contracts.
