Another financial boost for Ontario musicians.
Grants totaling more than $14 million dollars are being spread around to 123 recipients this year – from the Ontario Music Fund.
In making the announcement this morning, Premier Kathleen Wynne said it’s important to support the artists, the companies and cultural institutions that bring Ontario’s sound to the world – and create important jobs in our province.
Wynne says this kind of boost for home-grown music means that artists don’t have to leave Canada – to make it in the music business.
The Ontario government has allocated $45 million dollars for the three-year grant program – which was launched in 2013.
