A judge will rule today whether Peterborough MP Dean Del Mastro is guilty of spending too much in the 2008 federal election and falsifying a document to cover it up.
Del Mastro has denied all the allegations and insists he did nothing wrong.
If found guilty, Del Mastro could face a fine of $1,000 and a year in jail, but would not be barred from running for office again.
The now-Independent MP was once the Harper government’s point man on defending the Conservatives against charges of voter fraud.
