The money raised from the sale of 44 pieces of jewelry from the collections of the late Estee and Evelyn Lauder – will benefit two charities that were dear to their hearts.

The proceeds from Evelyn’s will support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation – which she founded.

And funds raised from the Estee Lauder sale will go to the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation.

Among the highlights of the highly-anticipated sale : a ruby, emerald and diamond Cartier “Tutti-Frutti” bracelet with a pre-sale estimate of between $750-thousand and one million dollars.

The Sotheby’s auction is set for New York on December 9th.

Estee Lauder died 10 years ago.

Her daughter-in law Evelyn died three years ago.
