Legendary performer Neil Diamond is in love and it’s pouring out in his songwriting.  Here’s a snippet of the audio:

Neil Diamond married for the third time in 2012 and he says he was able to make his Melody Road album “under the spell of love.”  “There’s no better inspiration or motivation for work than being in love,” Diamond explained, “It’s what you dream of as a creative person.”

Diamond says the album is the story of the last ten or twenty years of his life and the questions he asks. But the 73 year old admits he does not have many answers. He says “that sounds depressing but actually it’s an uplifting album.”  Melody Road is new this week. You can hear the first cut The Art of Love while listening to The New AM 740. Neil Diamond will be in Toronto to perform at the Air Canada Centre in April of next year.
