A new poll gives John Tory a commanding lead over Doug Ford as the race for Toronto’s mayor comes down to the final days. Forum Research asked 850 Toronto residents, “If an election for Toronto’s mayor were held today, who would you vote for, or who have you already voted for in the advance polls?” Forty-three percent would back Tory, 29 percent Doug Ford and 25 percent say Olivia Chow. In Forum’s last poll October 14th, Tory had a six point lead over Ford.
Transit continues to be the hot button issue at the debates. At University of Toronto Scarborough campus last night, John Tory insisted his plan will take less time and cost less than both of his competitors. Here’s a portion of the audio:
The election is on Monday. There are two major televised debates remaining, one tonight and another tomorrow night.
