The Queen of Hollywood has been honoured by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth.

Angelina Jolie has been made an honorary Dame – for her work against sexual violence in war zones – and her services to British foreign policy.

Jolie received the award during a private meeting with the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

Earlier this year Jolie co-chaired a conference in London aimed at curbing war-related sexual violence – and she worked closely with former British Foreign Minister William Hague on that conference.

39 year-old Jolie recently married longtime partner Brad Pitt.
