A new poll indicates John Tory continues to lead the Toronto mayoral race by a sizable margin.
The survey released this morning by Mainstreet Technologies gives Tory 40 per cent. Olivia Chow is in second place at 25 per cent, and Doug Ford has 23 per cent.
The results are virtually the same as recent polls, and show Chow and Ford essentially tied.
Doug Ford has only begun campaigning after taking over from his brother, Rob. The mayor has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments for a rare abdominal tumour. He won’t be taking part in either of the two debates scheduled for today. He’s expected to join in beginning tomorrow.
The election is five weeks from today.
