Ontario is pledging to help children in the Gaza conflict. Health Minister, Dr. Eric Hoskins says the province will do what it can to bring seriously ill kids, both Palestinian and Israeli, to Ontario for treatment and will take the serious cases that aren’t able to get proper treatment. Hoskins says five hospitals in the province will provide care, with some medical staff working for free. The government received a formal request from Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish who dedicated his life to peace after losing three daughters in the Gaza conflict in 2009. He was asking Ontario to make the necessary resources available to allow Ontario hospitals to support children needing medical attention. Abuelaish has reportedly asked to bring 100 wounded Gaza children to Canada for treatment before the end of the month. Ontario’s Health Minister spent more than 20 years treating people in conflict zones before entering politics and helped found War Child Canada.
