Addressing the party’s annual general meeting in Toronto, Kathleen Wynne let Stephen Harper have it.

The premier says the prime minister’s opposition to pension reform is somewhere between ”offensive and inexplicable”.  Wynne says Harper will hurt the middle class and that if he cannot lead the way, he should get out of the way, which drew loud applause from delegates.

Public transit will likely figure prominently in the Liberals’ next election platform.  Wynne’s talked for months about dedicated funding for a major transit expansion in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton region.

An election could soon be called if the minority Liberals fail to pass their spring budget – the date for which has not yet been announced.
