The province may come to the rescue of the Beaches Jazz Festival.
The Festival was informed this week that it was being denied funding from the Celebrate Ontario program after seven years. Losing the $75,000 investment would put a 20 per cent hole in the festival’s funding.
But Premier Kathleen Wynne says she has spoken to the Minister of Culture. She calls the festival a “terrific event” and says the government is looking to find other ways to support the festival.
The Beaches Jazz Festival takes place this year from July 18th to 27th.
