Coming soon to a location near you: the beautiful Albinoni “adagio in g minor.”

That haunting piece plays a part in the public library’s annual “Keep Toronto Reading” festival.

The focus this year is Steven Galloway’s “The Cellist of Sarajevo.”

It’s the story of a musician who performs the adagio for 22 days straight in the town square – to commemorate 22 people who’ve been killed while waiting in line to buy bread.

Cellists from the Toronto Symphony Orchestra will perform the piece at locations around the city for 22 consecutive days, beginning Monday, March 17th until April 7th.
