Toronto City staff and Waterfront Toronto are expected to recommend tearing down another portion of the Gardiner Expressway in a report to be released today. There are four options on the table for the aging traffic artery; maintain it, improve it, replace it or remove it. Mayor Rob Ford, Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly and Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong, who chairs the public works committee, are against tearing down the highway. Ford says that would lead to traffic chaos.
