Police are appealing to the public for any information that could help investigators locate a missing Whitby man.

Authorities think 52-year-old Jeffrey Boucher went out for a morning jog on Monday.

He never returned.

Durham regional police Sgt. Nancy van Rooy says an extensive search and an investigation of numerous leads has revealed no trace of Boucher.

Van Rooy says Boucher’s bank accounts and credit cards have not been accessed since his disappearance, he has not been to a hospital and they have no reason to suspect foul play.

Van Rooy adds that there are many reasons the Bowmanville high-school teacher could be missing – such as an injury, fall or collision.

And she says Boucher could simply have walked away, but says investigators don’t have any specific evidence to think Boucher chose to disappear.
