There’s a delay in the trial of a star Bolshoi ballet dancer.
A Russian court has put on-hold the start of the trial of Pavel Dmitrichenko – who is accused of organizing an acid attack on the chief of the famed Bolshoi Ballet Theatre .
The attack left artistic director Sergei Filin with severe acid burns to his face and eyes. The incident brought to light a fierce power struggle within the theatre.
The trial of Dmitrichenko and two men accused of perpetrating the attack was to start today but the court adjourned for a week – due to the absence of one of the lawyers.
Filin visited the Bolshoi last month after months of treatment in Germany, but said he wasn’t ready yet to resume work.
He is still travelling back and forth to Germany for continued treatment.
