The parents of a two-year-old girl who died at an unlicensed daycare in Vaughan last month are launching a $3.5-million lawsuit over their daughter’s death.
The couple says they are suing both the owner-operators of the daycare and the Ministry of Education.
Eva Ravikovich was found dead at the daycare, which was then shut down because of unsanitary conditions. Unlicensed daycares are only allowed to have five children in their care, but reports indicate the facility was looking after 27 children the day Eva died.
The Ministry of Education has admitted it failed to follow up on complaints about the daycare.
