There’s a development in the Gas Plant Scandals that have been dogging the minority Liberal government at Queen’s Park.

The McGuinty government estimated a worst-case scenario of 900-million dollars to scrap plants in Oakville and Mississauga.

The figure is contained in a footnote to a February 2012 Treasury Board document recently tabled to a legislative committee.

The Tories say the footnote was originally blacked-out from the document they received a week ago and that it shows the Liberals were trying to cover up the potential true costs of cancelling the plants.

The government announced in July 2012 that the cost of relocating the Mississauga plant was 180 million dollars later revised to 190 million.

In September, it said the Oakville plant relocation would cost 40 million.

In April, the auditor general tallied the total costs of moving the two plants at 585 million dollars.
