If you’re interested in trying out traditional Chinese medicine, it’s now regulated in Ontario. As of today, only qualified practitioners will be able to treat patients.
The new restrictions are being imposed by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario. The group will now demand that every practitioner register with the college after passing a series of tests or showing that they have equivalent experience after having seen at least two thousand patients in the past five years. Complaints from the public will also be handled by the college.
The new regulations are designed to assure the public that every practitioner treating patients has met certain standards.
