Older women have been urged for years to get routine screening for breast cancer but now a new study finds that the number of younger women with advanced cases of breast cancer is growing.
The results are worrisome because young women’s tumors tend to be more aggressive than older women’s.
The Canadian Cancer Society recommends that women between 40 and 49 talk with their doctors about whether to be screened for breast cancer.
Women over 50 are recommended to have a mammogram once every two years.
