Captain James T Kirk is about to have a chat with Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, who’s on a mission at the International Space Station.
This Thursday, William Shatner, who played the captain on “Star Trek,” will talk by phone with Hadfield, after a brief exchange on the social network Twitter last month.
The Montreal-born Shatner will be in Los Angeles, and Hadfield will be visible on a video link that will be broadcast on the space agency’s website.
Despite his “Star Trek“ fame, Shatner has indicated he`s not exactly eager to try real space travel himself.
Chris Hadfield is on a five-month space mission and has been beaming back photos of the Earth on a daily basis.
He also has more than 300,000 Twitter followers.
In mid-March, Hadfield will become the first Canadian to command the orbiting space laboratory.
