Theresa Spence, the First Nation chief whose restricted diet protest fanned the flames of the Idle No More protest movement, says she will attend tonight’s ceremonial meeting with Governor General, David Johnston.

Johnston has invited aboriginal leaders to Rideau Hall for the meeting.

Earlier today, some Aboriginal Chiefs boycotted a meeting with the Prime Minister because the Governor General was not there.

The Chiefs say the Governor-General represents the Monarchy which signed treaties with aboriginals in Canada in the18th century .. so he should have been at this afternoon’s closed-door summit.

Wallace Fox, chief of the Onion Lake Cree Nation in Saskatchewan … says a  national day of action is planned for January 16th …  that could shut down rail lines and highways.
