Another wealthy arts producer is donating part of his fortune to benefit others

First George Lucas announced that he will donate all of the proceeds of his sale of Lucasfilms to charity. Now Andrew Lloyd Webber has revealed he is donating more than $600,000 to arts education projects across the United Kingdom.

The Royal Ballet School will receive almost $290,000 to support students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Another $120,000 will train theatre technicians.

A $30,000 grant will support Live Music Now, a project founded by the late violinist Yehudi Menuhin. It will train and support 20 emerging musicians to deliver workshops to children with special educational needs.

Webber’s charitable foundation is dedicated to supporting a new generation of people entering the arts.
