It’s a happy ending to a story we’ve been telling you about over recent months. 84 year old Stella Wasiuk has been given back her house in Ajax thanks to a ruling by an Ontario Court Justice. Peter Lauwers put an end to the year long ordeal by ordering that Pauline Reid’s name be deleted from the title with the home to be registered in Wasiuk’s name only. Wasiuk’s lawsuit against Reid says the caregiver for the elderly woman pressured her to use the proceeds from the sale of her Markham condo to buy a house in Ajax. It turned out, the title of the property was put in Pauline Reid’s name. Wasiuk claims she was repeatedly threatened with abandonment if she didn’t agree to Reid’s ongoing demands. Reid later vanished amid newspaper and police investigations into her treatment of Wasiuk. The saga may not jet be over. Reid may show up when Wasiuk’s lawsuit against her goes to trial as early as next month.
