Toronto’s Mayor will be in court today, fighting to keep his job.
Ford faces a conflict of interest complaint stemming from his use of city letterhead to solicit funds from lobbyists for his football foundation when he was a city councillor. Council ordered him to repay the $3,000 two years ago, but then reversed that decision in February.
Ford defended himself at City Council and voted on the matter. According to the complaint, that violates the Municipal Conflict-of-Interest Act.
If the judge finds Ford violated the Act, he automatically loses his job.
The case is expected to take three days.
