Canada celebrated its 145th birthday in grand style yesterday.
Festivities and fireworks were held across the country. On Parliament Hill, the celebrations were part pageant, part history lesson, with actors portraying figures from the War of 1812 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the conflict that helped define our nation.
In Toronto, there were fireworks displays at several locations, including Ashbridges Bay.
